What Size Bedspread Do I Need for a King Size Bed

A standard UK king mattress is 150cm wide and 200cm long, which is 5 foot across. For a bedspread, aim for roughly 230 x 220cm. That gives you a proper drape over both sides and down the foot, which is exactly what a bigger bed wants.
If you’d like it to reach closer to the floor or you’ve got a deep mattress or a topper, size up again rather than down. A king bed can carry a generous drop beautifully.
How to measure for the perfect fit
Make the bed first, duvet and topper included, because that lifts the height more than you’d think. Then measure from the floor on one side, up and over the top of the bed, to the floor on the other side. That’s your ideal width.
Do the same down the length if you want it to reach the foot. Two minutes with a tape measure saves a lot of guessing later.
