What is an Oxford Pillowcase?
It’s one of those questions that feels like it should have an obvious answer and then somehow doesn’t. Is it from Oxford? Is it a particular thread count? No and no. Here’s what it actually means.
The Oxford pillowcase, explained
An Oxford pillowcase has a flat fabric border – a flange – stitched around the outside of the case. This border is typically 5-8cm wide and sits flat around the pillow when it’s on the bed, giving it a structured, decorative frame. That’s it. That’s the whole difference.
